Dave Walker (vocals/guitars): Dave grew up in country New South Wales, spending his formative years on a farm between Mulwala and Corowa.
He’d played guitar from the age of 6, but effectively started out his musical career in the USA where he lived for a year in 1989. Upon returning to Australia in 1990 he maintained his involvement with music and played in a variety of cover and original bands in North East Victoria.
He moved to Melbourne in 1996 to pursue a professional career in music.
He joined The Hooligans in 1997 and began to expand his repertoire of instruments, learning mandolin and banjo as well as beginning to sing more on stage as well as embarking on a demanding domestic and international touring schedule.
Dave formed Country outfit, The Cowtippers in 1999 and at the same time was playing bass in an instrumental groove band, The Brunswick Music Group, who are still signed to Universal Music Publishing.
‘Diamonds on the Road’ is Dave’s seventh studio album and the second of his original music. Proficient on electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin and tenor banjo as well as possessing a powerful, passionate voice, Dave Walker is a charismatic and engaging frontman.
